Muzaffarpur’s famous Shahi Litchi is a well-known name. But this is not the only place where this sweet fruit is cultivated. Apart from Muzaffarpur, Shahi Litchi is also cultivated in Samastipur. Raghunath Rai, a farmer of Badhona village of Vidyapatinagar block here, cultivates litchi in 7 acres of land. He has succeeded in growing Chinese litchi by doing a new experiment.
Earning millions in a month
Raghunath Rai has been cultivating Chinese litchi for more than a decade. The produce from his farm is exported to other states along with Bihar. In one litchi season, he earns a profit of about 5 lakh rupees in a month.
